The meticulous preparation works included the application of a self-leveling smoothing compound and a liquid damp proof membrane (DPM). This layer acts as a barrier, preventing moisture from compromising the integrity of the wood flooring. The DPM ensured the longevity of the herringbone floor and protected it from potential damage caused by moisture infiltration.
